Squirrels

Squirrels are our youngest section of the Scouts, aged 4-6 years old.

We have recently added the newest branch of the Scouts family tree to the District. 4 and 5 year olds are now able to join in the fun.

This is an age when minds are fizzing, when energy and curiosity levels are sky high, when little lives are full of wow and wonder. Who knows how far they’ll reach?

Benton Squirrels started in 2021 as the first in the country District based Drey.

We run a programme based on what our young people choose from half term to half term.

We look forward to seeing our youngest section gain valuable skills and knowledge to allow them to continue their scouting journey in one of our 6 beaver sections and beyond.

We have two Squirrel Dreys in Benton. One run as a District Provision, and one as part of 1st Shiremoor Scout Group.
